What is a feature callout ad?
A feature callout ad is a static image that shows a single product with short text labels pointing to its key features or benefits, usually joined to the product by thin lines. It explains several selling points at a glance without a long caption, which is why it's common for supplements, skincare, electronics and kitchenware.

- 01
Pun that names the product
'The smash of the fall season' plays on 'smash hit' and reinforces the Pumpkin Smash name.
- 02
Solves a real pain point
'Finally a candle that fills up your entire home' targets people tired of weak scent throw.
- 03
Hard number badge
200+ hours gives a concrete value reason that justifies the price.

Simple seasonal props
Seeds, cinnamon and squash signal the scent without cluttering the frame.

Who this ad targets
This ad targets candle buyers, mostly women 25–50, who light candles daily in autumn and care about value – they want a strong scent throw and a long burn for their money. It speaks to people who have been disappointed by small candles that barely scent a room, as well as returning fans waiting for a popular seasonal scent. Homeowners and renters decorating for fall on Instagram and Pinterest are a natural fit.
Copywriting analysis
The copy works on three levels. The headline is a pun – smash as in smash hit, and as in Pumpkin Smash – with smash italicised so readers catch the double meaning. The subline then switches to a direct benefit and starts with 'Finally', which implies other candles have let you down. That single word adds problem-solution framing without a long explanation. The badge closes with proof: a number, 200+ hours. Together they move from emotion to benefit to evidence in under 20 words, giving both impulse buyers and value-minded shoppers a reason to click.
Visual design
Symmetrical, centred composition with the candle as hero and the headline stacked above it. The olive-beige background complements the burnt-orange wax and amber glass. Three lit wicks make the glow feel generous, supporting the 'fills your home' claim. The cream badge breaks the symmetry and draws the eye to the burn time. Props are kept to the edges so the frame stays clean.
How to adapt this template for your brand
- Shoot your product centred with two or three seasonal props at the edges.
- Write a pun headline that ties to your product name and italicise the key word.
- Add a one-line benefit that starts with 'Finally' to frame a common pain point.
- Place one round badge with your strongest number, like burn time or size.
- Keep the background warm and plain so the badge and headline stand out.
Tips for candles ads on Meta
Best in Meta feed at 3:4 or 4:5; the badge stays readable on small screens. For Stories, add extra background above the headline and keep the badge inside the safe zone. Test the 200+ hours claim in the primary text too, and try a version with price in the badge. This value-led creative suits retargeting audiences who have viewed candles but not purchased.
About this creative
A large three-wick candle in a tall amber ribbed glass vessel sits in the centre of a warm, olive-beige studio scene. All three wicks are lit, and the label at the base reads half baked pumpkin smash. Around it, simple fall props add context: a scattering of pumpkin seeds on the left, two cinnamon sticks on the right and a slice of roasted squash at the bottom edge. Soft light from the left casts a long shadow behind the candle. At the top, a bold lowercase headline says the smash of the fall season., with the word smash set in italic for emphasis. Below it, a sentence-case line promises that this is finally a candle that fills up your entire home. To the right of the candle, a round cream badge highlights that it burns for 200+ hours, with the number set large. The ad mixes seasonal mood with a concrete, practical value claim.
